Violin Class

Dear HCSTC Community members: We are glad to announce that we're able to continue offering Violin Class at our campus for this school year. The time is 5:00-5:50 pm, Sunday afternoon. Our new violin instructor is Ethan Mei. He recently located here from Toronto, Canada. He's had the opportunity to learn violin from accomplished violinists like Conrad Chow (who holds a PHD in Violin) and Yun Zhang (the concert master of the National Ballet of China) who’ve greatly enhanced his technical skills and musical sensibility. The Violin Course Outline: In this class, students will explore different aspects of music, from playing techniques to expressing emotions through music and understanding music theory. Initially, we'll focus on learning correct fingering technique and posture. As we progress, we'll engage in fingering exercises, scales, solo pieces, and explore how to infuse emotion and feeling into our music. At the end of the school year, we'll culminate the year with a class-wide orchestral performance. This is where all the students' families, friends, and relatives may come to enjoy and celebrate their progress as aspiring musicians. All students will be accepted into this course; however, it is best if they do have pervious playing experience. Students should practice what we learn in class, so they don't fall behind their peers. Before our first class, please print out the first page of the Practice Booklet (link: (Schradiek Violin Finger exercises: Practice Booklet (https://fiddlerman.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Henry_Schradieck_School_of_Violin_Technics_Bk.1.pdf)). Also, on the first day, have a piece of music ready that your child would like to perform for the class. We hope you can take advantage of this opportunity for your talented children in this field.

Best wishes, HCSTC
