New Dance Class Next Year!

Dear HCSTC Community members: In the new school year, we'll roll out a new dance class, which is different from our traditional Chinee folk dance. The following is a brief introduction which will help you with a better understanding of this class and make decision to register your children into the class. The class fits for both boys and girls and is very popular in both middle and high schools, even at colleges. Very helpful with improving self esteem, social skills and popularity for our youngsters. Teacher: Sophie Zhang (2-time Worlds Silver Medalist Team, 2-time National Champion Team, Adrenaline All Stars, McLean High School Dance Team) Class Time: 4:00 – 5:00pm Every Sunday Class Name: Hip Hop/Pom/Jazz Dance Class with Performance Opportunity at HCSTC School Christmas Variety Show Student Age Range: 7 – 12 year old's. Both boys and girls are welcome. Course Description: Dance class is a year long course with a focus on different forms of dance and techniques. Students will learn and explore techniques of Hip-Hop, Pom, Jazz and Choreography. Teach 2-3 dance routines each semester. Objective: 1. To spark students’ interest in dance and expression through music. 2. To help students build stronger body and mind and self-confidence through dancing and performing. 3. To cultivate students’ skills of teamwork, collaboration, discipline, respect for themselves and others. 4. Mostly importantly to enjoy dancing, release mental stress and have fun!
