Dear HCS-TC Community,

I am writing to share an exciting news that two of our Go Class students, Alan Bi & Aiden Che, won two of the top three individual player awards in the first FCPS Go Festival (Come & Go!), which was hosted at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJ) this past Saturday! Please join me to congratulate Alan and Aiden for their great achievement!

As many of you may be aware, American Go Association and FCPS had jointly started the Go Game after school program in a number of elementary and middle schools across the county this spring. I was actively involved in that initiative. Since our Chinese School is the only Hope Chinese School campus that offers Go classes in the DC area, I was expecting that our students will play some leading role in this initiative in the future. It seems our efforts have already start bearing fruits! Very happy for the student winners and our school!

We will continued to offer two Go classes this Fall, one intermediate and one intro level. If you want your kids to learn how to play and compete in this ancient Oriental game that had play a critical role in the recent AI advancement, please come to join us this fall by registering the classes once the Fall class registration is live, which is expected after July the 4th.

Thank you for your attention! Enjoy your summer!

Bin Duan

HCS-TC Go Teacher
