Call for volunteers to participate in community event

Dear HCS-TC community,

Our school is invited to participate in the McLean Winterfest Parade on December 8th, which is an annual community event with the core mission to help creating a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented downtown McLean. Since the parade time (3:30-5:00 pm on Sunday) is overlapping with our school time, the principal asked me to call for parent and student volunteers to participate in the event on behalf of our school. The initial thought/plan is to have a few (up to 8) volunteers to carry our school banner in the front of the procession and have parent dancing group, dressing in traditional Chinese dress (旗袍）to follow, but we welcome any other suggestion. The rule of thumb here is that one needs to be willing to coordinate and participate for the suggested form of participation!

This is a great opportunity to show our Chinese culture and promote our school in our local community thus your active volunteerism will be greatly appreciated.
