Announcement of Time Change for 2nd Grade Math Class

Dear HCSTC Community: Due to teacher's conflicting schedule, we need to change our 2nd Grade Math Class from 5:00-5:50 Sunday pm to 4:00-4:50 Sunday pm. Sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused. At the same time, we'd like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce the 2nd grade math class curriculum so our parents can have a better understanding about this class. 2nd Grade Math Introduction Course Description

In the Fall semester, this course covers logic number sequences and shapes. The second semester this course mainly focuses on word problems. The topics cover money, date, time, length, weight, equation, distribution and if reasoning. In addition, our Spring semester covers multiplication and division and mixed operation word problems. The goal of this course is to start building our students a strong foundation of number sense and develop their math problem solving, critical and creative thinking skills. Course Objectives:

• Solve basic number and graphic sequences.

• Knowing basic polygon shapes, circle and solid shapes.

• Solve perimeters of square and rectangle.

• Follow steps and solve multi-steps practical word problems.

• Understand basic multiplication and division concepts and be familiar with time table.

• Be able to solve multi-steps mixed operation word problems.
