4/20 HCSTC Announcement

Dear TC Community members,

This coming Sunday (4/20) is our spring break day off and hope everyone will enjoy the highly deserved school holiday.

Our summer classes are now open for registration. They are all online classes via Zoom and will start on the week of June15 and end on the week of Aug 3, 50 minutes per session, for a total of 8 sessions.

Rising Elem Math Second Grade CogAT Prep class has been very popular and is again offered this summer. This class is designed for students who are rising to 2nd grade in Fall 2025. In Fairfax County Public School, students are required to take two ability screening tests. All first graders are required to complete the NNAT and all second graders are required to take the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test). Just like NNAT, the CogAT test is used to measure students’ academic aptitude, and to identify and place students in Level 4 Advanced Academic Programs (formerly Gifted and Talented Program).
