2/25 HCSTC Announcement

Dear HCSTC community members,

This coming Sunday, 2/25, is a normal school day for us. A couple of announcements to be made here:

1. For most of our students, mid-term exam is coming on 3/10. As parents, you may want to remind your children of the date, and have them proactively ask their teachers any questions if any, either in classrooms or via emails; so that they are full prepared for the academic calendar.

2. On 3/17, we'll have teachers/parents meeting in our regular classrooms. The meeting is to help parents communicating with teachers on any issues you may have about your children's learning on the subjects in their classrooms; at the same time, teachers will be able to provide parents helpful inputs regarding to the performance of your children, such as homework completion, classroom participation and behaviors. The school instructs teachers to leave 15 to 20 minutes before the classes end on that day, so teachers can have face to face conversation with parents on candid discussion about

their children in HCSTC. 15-20 minutes is really not that long, especially for a relatively large class, so you may want to email your teacher to schedule in advance; or schedule a time after the classes, if your teacher is not teaching all 4 hours. Email or phone conversations are also encouraged as all of our teachers' email addresses are clearly listed in our registration system.

Also, as a reminder, we are at FCPS George Marshall High School and to follow all FCPS rules is very important and absolute for everyone of us.

Please talk with your children before they come to the school Sunday afternoon to behave properly. DO NOT CHASE ANYONE IN THE HALLWAYS DURING RECESS TIME. BE CAREFUL WITH EACH OTHER, NOT TO DO ANY HARM TO EACH OTHER.

No eating, drinking in the classroom, no trash throwing into the classroom trash bin, not to touch anything in the classroom that does not belong to you in the school.

Here are some FCPS reference link info -

Best wishes to everyone,

HCSTC
