1/28 HCSTC Announcement

Dear HCSTC community members:

We will have a normal school day this Sunday 01/20.The school operation has been going quite well in every aspect and direction.

Sunday (1/28/2024)/(02/04/2024) Red Envelope Distribution 

明天我们发放新年红包

This Sunday (4pm classes) and Next Sunday(2pm classes), the School will follow the Chinese New Year tradition and give out Red Envelope (HONG BAO) to each registered and FULLY paid student at our Tyson’s Corner campus.

If your children are registered in Chinese classes, they will get the Red Envelope from their Chinese class teachers. If they did not register Chinese classes, but only registered and paid for non Chinese classes, they should come to the front desk to collect Red Envelope.

The 5th Hope Chinese Idiom Story Competition  

第五届 “希望杯”中国成语故事比赛  

Purpose: Promote the growth of Chinese teaching in the eight campuses and improve students’ Chinese oral expression skills  

宗旨：促进八校区中文教学的成长, 提高学生中文口头表达能力

3/3  preliminary round (泰城初赛)

Finals: Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 8:30 am to 12:15 am

Competition location: Hope Chinese School 希望中文学校波城校区 in Maryland

Competition division: PreK - 9th grade, Bilingual and advanced division

                               ( 学前班至九年级, 双语低年级/ 高年级， 进阶组)

competition rules:

  1. Each player’s time is 2 minutes. The timekeeper will prompt at 1’50” and 2’05”. Players exceeding 2’05” will be deducted points. The maximum penalty for overtime is 0.5 points.

  2. During the competition, contestants only reported the story title and told the story, but did not report their school district or name.

 3. Scoring: 内容（30分）/发音(20分)/字词选用(20分)/互动 (20分)/仪态(5分)/时限（5分)
