1/19 HCSTC Announcement

Dear HCSTC community members:

This coming Sunday, Jan, 19, will be the 2nd day of our 2025 Spring semester and so far itis a normal school day for us. Weather wise, we follow the FCPS school rule and policy. When bad weather occur and when there is a lot of uncertainty, the FCPS waits to get the latest morning forecast. In that case, the superintendent makes the decision of whether to delay or close schools by approximately 4:30 a.m on that morning.

FCPS provides information about closings and delays in many ways including:

  • Posted to www.fcps.edu.

  • Posted to the FCPS Twitter and FCPS Facebook pages.

  • Posted on FCPS cable Channel 21 (Cox Communications, Reston Comcast, and Verizon (channel 11) cable customers only).

  • Area radio and television stations.

All students attending classes at the HCSTC must have registered and paid tuition plus registration fees in full already, otherwise they will get rejected from our classes. This Sunday, we will check classrooms on those who have not yet paid their tuitions/registration fee in full. To avoid unnecessary embarrassment of your children in front of their peers, pay up your fees immediately; otherwise, unpaid students will not be allowed in the classrooms anymore.

Sunday (1/26/25) Red Envelope Distribution Day 发放新年红包:

On 1/26, the School will follow the Chinese New Year tradition and give out Red Envelope ( 新年红包) to each registered and FULLY paid student (adult student not included) at our Tyson’s Corner campus. If your children are registered in Chinese classes, they will get the Red Envelope from their Chinese class teachers. If they only registered and paid for non Chinese classes, they should come to the front desk to collect Red Envelope (新年红包).

Last but not least, according to the recent CDC reports, the Covid, RSVs and flu viruses are getting rampant again across the country. As a precaution, we strongly recommend all of you to take any necessary actions, such as wearing masks and using sanitizers frequently to protect yourself, your families and our community members at our campus as you see most fit and necessary. For doing that, we thank you in advance.

Best wishes,

HCSTC
